Our courses are registered and accredited with the CMA - (Complementary Medical Association), ABT (Associated Beauty Therapists), PBD (Professional Beauty Direct), The Guild of Holistic Therapists and the Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists. This allows you to obtain insurance and practice on the general public and be able to charge.
CMA
The CMA was established in early 1995, in response to the overriding lack of public and medical knowledge about the complementary medical profession.
The Complementary Medical Association (CMA) aim is to promote ethical, responsible, professional complementary medicine to the public and the medical profession.
The CMA represents the interests of just over 15,000 practitioners in various categories - including students and 100 college members with additional organisations approaching us regularly. The CMA is great news for professional practitioners, ethical colleges and patients who demand and expect excellence in every aspect of treatment.
GPBT & GHT
Launched in 1994, the Beauty Guild and the Guild of Holistic Therapists are the UK's biggest professional beauty trade bodies.
The Guild has over 5,000 members who are all fully qualified beauty and holistic therapists.
All members of the GPBT and GHT work to a strict code of ethics.
ABT (Associated Beauty Therapists) What do you get when you combine over thirty years' internal experience with one of the largest insurance company's in the UK (AXA Insurance UK plc), the premier show organiser and publisher (Guild News) and a team of well respected industry professionals? The answer, a UK-based company offering both membership and insurance solutions; Associated Beauty Therapists. ABT is designed by therapists, for therapists and as you will see from our application form all therapies are covered by our insurance at a fraction of the cost you may be used to.
PBD (Professional Beauty Direct) Professional Beauty is offering comprehensive insurance cover for both qualified individuals and salon owners. As a therapist, you can be covered for just £49.50 a year (£79.50 including a subscription to Professional Beauty). Salon Owners can also obtain excellent rates to cover the whole of your business. For added protection Professional Beauty Direct covers you anywhere in the UK wherever you are working be it a salon or on a mobile basis.
